Services

Assessment

  • diagnostic dyslexia assessment
  • workplace needs assessment

These two types of assessment can be offered separately or jointly. An advantage of a joint assessment is that the profile of strengths and weaknesses found in the diagnostic assessment can be closely related to workplace difficulties and to recommendations for help and support.

Our reports are comprehensive and written in a clear jargon-free style. They are in a format which allows them to be used in applications for Access to Work funding.

Training

We can offer a comprehensive training programme tailored to the needs of an individual person and his/her job. The training will be undertaken by ourselves or by close colleagues whom we have ourselves trained, and whose work we can personally recommend. A training programme could cover, e.g., reading and writing work documents, accuracy in number work, memory and organizational skills, communication skills, and emotional issues.

Reasonable adjustments

We can advise employers on reasonable adjustments they could make in workplace practice to help and support dyslexic employees.

Dyspraxia

Our assessments are designed to identify dyspraxic as well as dyslexic difficulties, and we are able to offer training and advice to dyspraxic people.

IT support

We work closely with an IT expert who specialises in advising, and giving IT training to, dyslexic/dyspraxic people in the workplace. The training could cover, e.g., review of core computing skills, use of assistive software and other technological aids, touch typing. Advice is also given to employers on dyslexia-friendly hardware and software.

Dyslexia awareness training

We can offer dyslexia awareness training to employers, either in-house or at our premises. This could comprise a discussion with interested managers, a talk, a workshop, or a training day.

Legal work

We have expertise and experience in writing legal reports and in acting as expert witnesses in employment tribunals.

Advice for students entering employment

We offer advice on how students can make a successful transition from an educational environment to the very different culture of the workplace.
